Super peaceful with magnificent views

Booked for a couple of nights but stayed for 4 and then came back and tried out one of the wigwams. Blown away by this lovely little place and managed a whole range of activities from this prime location.

For starters, it's super peaceful with magnificent views of God's own country; The magnificent county of Yorkshire. Checked in by text message and everything was laid out perfectly. Spotless shower block, Quaint little pot wash cabin, well-equipped and clean, full of brochures and bits and pieces you might appreciate. Books and games etc. Nice touch!

It's clear from the minute you arrive that you can relax and not worry about some lunatic with a clipboard coming to measure your awning or complain about your dog having fun. Instead, you can have a cold beer with the owners and their family and watch your dogs and their dogs run around like lunatics.

We usually keep ourselves in our own little bubble but everybody is so incredibly friendly that we ended up playing jumpers for goalposts with some kids from another pitch.

We started with a 2 night stay. My wife planned a whole range of trips and walks for us to do so we camped for the week and then came back and tried out the wigwams the week after.

We camp a lot and like to try new places as much as possible but this is one place that we will be returning to again and again

Excellent free wi-fi throughout the site

Fantastic spot with a beautiful view

We parked up here in our campervan for 3 nights. The campsite is easy to find and we had a fantastic spot with a beautiful view where we could park our van and get the awning out. Facilities were clean and well looked after, We visited in covid times and the social distancing precautions were adhered to and there was plenty of hand sanitiser and soap at each washing facility. The campsite is not too big, has a quiet but family friendly atmosphere and our dog was welcome (on the lead) which was great. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

Lovely small campsite

We stayed for 2 nights during these difficult times and everything went smoothly. Board on entrance let’s you know your pitch. Stunning views. Hot showers and clean facilities. Helpful owner. 20 minute walk down the hill into the centre of Otley lovely town. 2nd time staying here.

We’ll be back next year

Very friendly and helpful staff

Clean toilets and good shower. Lovely view!!

Great location - great site - great hospitality. We hired 2 of the Wigwams and a caravan pitch as a base for the sportive ride. The location was perfect for getting into Ilkley and Otley and the local Chevin pub a 2 minute walk - even better.

The site is well run and all the facilities are clean, well maintained and always open.

Highly recommended - we will be back !

Overall excellent campsite.

A gorgeous little site with stunning views towards Ilkley Moor. Lovely clean facilities, free WiFi and a wonderful host (Joanne) who goes out of her way to make sure you're happy campers! We're very new to caravanning and had a few teething problems with our caravan on our first night. Joanne tried her best to help us get sorted along with a regular on the site who helped us too! This site has a lovely homely feel to it and we fell in love with it. The walk into Otley is a pleasant downhill jaunt but a bit of a hike back up the hill. We can't wait to return.

Lovely view from campsite. Very warm welcome on arrival. Walking distance to local pub.

Perfect location lovely views fantastic pitch facilities just perfect!! Very friendly owner and would deffo go back!! Perfect for families with smaller children! Great location to a number of attractions near by!

On arrival the staff were very welcoming. Overall excellent campsite.

Looking forward to our next visit!

As very new campers living in Leeds we decided to make our first trip to a site which would be near enough to travel home if we had forgotten any essentials, hence our visit to Clarion Lodge.

Our first visit was just for one night to see how we fared with our tent in the great outdoors. We received a very warm welcome from Jo the site owner and had a good pitch near to all facilities.

The pub across the road served excellent food and was good value for money.

The facilities on site were very clean with plenty of hot running water and no charge for the shower.

On our fist visit we stayed in our tent, this visit our adult children and grandchildren used the tent and we slept in a wigwam, which was well appointed and well stocked with full size fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and heater.

Children loved playing in the grounds which were beautifully kept.

Looking forward to our next visit - many thanks Jo!

We came across from the Lakes to do some climbing, nice and easy to get to the crags. Just a few minutes from Otley and a nice pub a few minutes walk away!

Lovely campsite!

We had a weekend break at this campsite, great view and location - walked into Otley for lunch. The campsite owner is very friendly and helpful. The toilet/shower block is spotless and warm. We love the pet ducks! There is a lovely pub just up the road, The Chevin, which does great food. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay last weekend. Even though the weather was so cold the lovely people that run the site made sure we were kept warm. The wigwam was immaculately clean with everything you need for an overnight stay. It was a great and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

August 2017

A lovely stay! We stayed on Elm Wigwam and it was perfect. Very clean, lots of space and had everything we needed. Shower and toilets very clean and the owners incredibly friendly. Jo recommended a few places to visit that would we would have missed. Definitely recommend as it was great value for money as well as giving the camping experience if you required a little more comfort. We love camping but as I am pregnant thought this may be more suitable and it was perfect. Thanks again! Xx

July 2017

spacious and clean cabin with good facilities and very clean toilet block! BBQ stand and picnic bench was a nice touch.

Fab place, made us feel very welcome. Very helpful and lovely setting xx

June 2017

Always a warm welcome and the site immaculately clean. Superb views, fresh air, wildlife, and when the sun is out, the pitch is glorious. Ate tasty meals at The Chevin Inn, a few minutes walk along the road.

Great camp site with facilities which were spotless, friendly staff and a warm welcome, the views are amazing and plenty of places to visit locally including the local market on a Friday

May 2017

We have been twice during May because we use it as a base to visit family in the area, this is a lovely little site, and the people friendly, the place is clean and well kept, and will certainly be using this site many more times

Booked for Friday and Saturday night as we were at the Northern Shooting Show. What can I say other than fantastic. Brilliant communication from the owners. The pod is beautifully located with parking next to it. Loads of space, comfy beds, warm and very clean. Great facilities in the pod and couldn't fault it. Showers and toilets lovely, modern and clean. Free shower and really warm water. Even two plugs by the mirror for hairdryer and straighteners! Free wifi kept the kids happy and really good signal. Would most definitely come again. Xx

April 2017

Clarion Lodge is a relaxing place, in a lovely setting. The lodge we stayed in was comfortable and warm, the facilities were clean. It was the ideal base to explore North Yorkshire. The proprietors greeted us on arrival and was very friendly and informative. We would certainly recommend.

March 2017

Great views - great hospitality- everything on your doorstep including a great pub 2 minutes walk away who are dog friendly and serve amazing food!

August 2016
Myself and my wife just spent four days here. Really enjoyed it. Well worth the visit. Very nice people and helpful at all times, nothing was too much trouble. Will be returning back very soon. Nice walks, views. Shops not too far away, within walking distance

August 2016
We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with our 8-man tent.

First impressions were very good - the owner is very friendly and greeted us when we arrived, then showed us the various facilities.

The campsite is small, with stunning views. There are only 2 toilets and 1 shower for each gender, but we never had to queue. The showers were free, powerful and hot - and none of those annoying push buttons that time out every 10 seconds. There is a separate hut for washing up, with 2 sinks and draining boards. This is one of the places you can also get your drinking water - the other is outside the toilet block.

As the site is small there is no shop or playground - although there was a plastic playhouse for smaller kids.

Not far from Otley where there are shops and restaurants, and there is a pub a couple of hundred yards walk away.

We were really impressed with this campsite - lovely location, fantastic owners and very reasonably priced (£15 pn or £18 with ehu)

Brillant Wigwam………………
Stayed recently for one night in one of the 3 WigWams.

They are brilliant and have all you need for a comfy stay.

The WigWams are quite large and the beds can be combined to make one huge bed.

The site overall is very clean and tidy with good facilities and run by a lovely woman called Jo.

Plenty of space to have a BBQ too.

Would definitely reccomend this place to others.

Great Site………………
We booked to stay for 2 nights in our tent during August. We had a warm welcome and were given all information we may need before setting up the tent! The site itself has some great views and is a great size, toilets and showers were always clean when we visited. One shower was not a problem during our stay - it was always empty when I needed it! Added bonus was wifi! It meant we could watch a film together after our 8 year old had gone to sleep and needed it to be dark! Would definitely return!

Absolutely Wonderful
I forgot to write a review when I stayed in a Wigwam in November, but I've also recently arrived home from a wonderful trip to the same campsite staying in a tent. Both trips have been really good. Jo, the owner, is wonderful and so friendly. Fresh eggs are available on request from the chickens that Jo owns. Showers & toilets are modern and always tidy. The tent pitches are also a great size. Will definitely be back in the future. Thank you so much Jo for another brilliant stay!

So relaxing & Friendly
Me & my partner stayed in the beech wigwam last night. For someone who hates to camp & be away from home comforts i literally can't fault it! Huge comfy bed, toilets immaculate & such a welcoming environment! The wigwams are spacious with kettle, toaster, microwave & fridge. The bed is bloody huge! We took disposable BBQs to which we were told stands were provided free of charge, the owner welcomed us and showed us around the site, she was very friendly & helpful. Picnic benches are outside the wigwam and the views are amazing. I must say I was very impressed with the wifi, it was free and super quick to the point where my partner could watch the football on the iPad without any problems. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely chilled break.

A Lovely Site
We stayed for a weekend back in July at the start of the school holidays taking the tent having already enjoyed a weekend in the pods a year earlier. A family of four I arrived the day before my husband with our children. I was useless at putting up the tent single handedly but there was loads of others there on hand who were more than willing to lend a hand and we were up in no time. A lovely site with fabulous views across the dales. The facilities are great with lovely clean loos and shower.

May 2016
This was a last minute choice and we could not have chose better. Lovely level site, clean and well kept. Fantastic views across the valley. Facilities clean and not far from the field. Owners friendly & informative. Yes it's next to a road and also on the flight path, but to be honest that never bothered us at all. Sitting watching the stunning sunset across the Valley was just perfect!

Nice Little Site…………
We visited Clarion Lodge for the August Bank holiday weekend, due to its proximity to friends and family.

The site is definitely petite, but it is well formed. We were given a warm welcome by the owner, which is always nice.

Although there was only a single shower and a few toilets, for the size of the site this was ample. We were impressed that the owners had the foresight to have an electric shower, which guarantees at least that you get hot water. We find that UK campsites are very good at a) charging extra and/or b) providing tepid showers that provide little water pressure; thankfully Clarion Lodge don't do this.

Although Otley probably wouldn't be most people's first choice for a holiday, it is actually a really convenient base due to its proximity to Ilkley, the Yorkshire Dales, and Leeds. The cost of a stay is probably more affordable than it would be if you stayed within the Dales themselves.

We would definitely visit the site again and would consider the Wigwams in winter as they look very nice.

Lovely Campsite & amazing Views
Loves this campsite. The views are amazing. We stopped in the camping pod. Came with most things u need. Just need to take bedding. Even had a little heater. The lady was super friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers always clean. Love the little washing up hut. Lots of leaflets of things to do in the area. In a good location To explore ilkley and otley. Will deffinelyy be back at some point.

Perfect Site
We stayed her for our first time in may for the weekend . Joanne the owner very friendly and helpful . We stayed in our campervan . Pitch was perfect . Showers and toilets immaculate and sheltered wooden summer house for washing pots etc . Lovely pub 2 mins walk away . Nice walk around the Chevin country park . We went for cycling with our 9 year old son . We cycled to saltaire . We're amazed to find the small roads still quite busy, but felt safe enough . But not 100 percent relaxing when you want a quiet ride . Would stay again . Lovely views from the site and very relaxing chilled out site.

Superb location and facilities, we’ll return
We'd been tempted for some time to pay this site a visit and did so with another family thus booking two of three wigwams. The owners on arrival were lovely and friendly and gave us an insight into the facilities of the site and also the local area. The wigwams are superb, very warm and cosy. They are fairly well equipped as well. We took a slow cooker, which the owners said it was OK to use. The facilities are well looked after on site; toilet/shower blocks to a high standard. The views are great from the site and the site in general is very attractive. We will definitely be back again. This is a great option if you are not familiar with camping, want a bit of luxury or just want a bit of warmth in the cooler months.
